You just have a few more days to visit the first important retrospective on Nucleo, the outstanding Italian design and art company led by Piergiorgio Robino.
From March 26th to May 6th (next Tuesday) you can find, at Hôtel de Galliffet, in Paris, the “Manifesto” – a look back at the designs of the italian studio, presented by the Italian Institute of Culture.
At the Hôtel de Galliffet you will see Nucleo‘s 15 different works (essentially a series of everyday objects), made with different techniques over the last 5 years. The exhibition serves to show the creative process and to present the relationship between different materials, shapes, colours, weights and concept, as their balance changes and evolves.
Founded in 1997, in Turin, Nucleo‘s works combine contemporary art, architecture and design. They define themselves as artists not designers, because “the word designer is overused”.
“Manifesto” by Nucleo at Hôtel de Galliffet
Nucleo‘s designs, or pieces of art, have been exhibited worldwide over the years, and have captivated the attention of thousands. Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Denmark and the USA. These are just some countries that have had the opportunity to host and share Nucleo’s innovative work.
Our work can be described as an investigation of time-frames; their matrix and their existences.
Distinctive, curious and tactile, we draw comparisons between the past and the future.
A theme that influences the perception of the “self” and the surroundings. We play with the presumption of interlacing time-frames and exploring the space they create. With a focus on three dimensional shapes, the physical and tactile experience is an important part of the expression.
We have always been interested in working with history, the lack of history, and the creation of it. Aspects necessary to build a memory. We believe that through making a past of the future, we can create a curiosity of history that has not yet happened.
If you’re in Paris, you must take a little time to check this impressive exhibition of the innovative Italian art & design studio.
Boca do Lobo will continue to give you special suggestions and share with you the latest shows you must visit . 🙂
