Welcome to The Wiesler! The Wiesler Hotel has been around since 1909 and renovated in its original style in 1986. As a member of the World Hotels, Hotel Wiesler belongs to the most unique hotels in the world. A location in the centre of Graz with a great atmosphere, great food, great people and great beds. A place where you can be yourself but also reinvent yourself. Somewhere between soul and art noveau, but always in the here and now.
The world has no shortage of traditional hotels. The Wiesler has been around since 1909. But numbers don’t mean anything to Wiesler. What really matters is how you spend those years. Which is why, since the Wiesler first opened, the hotel have never stopped looking for new things. Things that will make their guests happy. There are 97 rooms waiting to be filled with your stories and memories, which are as real as the spirit of The Wiesler itself.
In 1909, luxury was having an ensuite bathroom, a telephone in your room and a lift in the hotel. Since then, The Hotel Wiesler has continued to reinterpret luxury, always keeping it contemporary. The successful combination of beautiful vintage fixtures and modern design symbolizes the philosophy behind the new Wiesler.
The hotel isn’t just for sleeping, you will find it is filled with inspiration too. This is perhaps thanks to the vision of Carl Wiesler who, in 1870 had the idea of buying five guesthouses and converting them into the hotel you see today. Between 1945 and 1954 The Wiesler fell on hard times, being used as accommodation for British Army officers, until it was renovated in its original style in 1986.
“Today, we’re living in the year 2012. We think that our past has made the Wiesler what it is today – a hotel where every brick has a story to tell, but where you can, of course, also get a good night’s sleep”, said Florian Weitzer, the Wiesler owner.
Dinner Time!! At the Wiesler it is all about passion, simplicity, internationality and attention to detail. And these are all features of their menu too.
A good day starts with a good breakfast. And at the Wiesler breakfast is especially good. With pancakes and syrup, muesli with fresh fruit, homemade marmalade and fresh farmhouse bread you will find the whole week is filled with that ‘Sunday feeling’.
The ‘Speisesaal’ is not a hotel restaurant in the conventional sense. It’s a place where the whole city wants to come and eat. At its centre is our unique charcoal grill. Severin Corti from the newspaper ‘Der Standard’ rated our burger as “Austria’s best”. Tasty salads, chunky steaks, spicy rustic Italian sausages and much more are served up in a truly international atmosphere.
At ‘Senf und Söhne’ vegetarians will probably feel a bit hard done by, as the motto here is meat, meat, meat! Beef and pork cooked in every imaginable way. Served up in a crusty bread roll with plenty of mustard and horseradish and a glass or two of house wine to wash it down.
