Elizabeth Hotel is a 164-room boutique hotel in Colorado that opened its doors in December 2017, on the edge of Old Town Fort Collins. With a dazzling interior design, its clients go there to live an experience, while the hotel celebrates the local music community in collaboration with Bohemian Companies. Because of that, the hotel often displays local art from students, professors and musicians in order to help rising local stars.
The name of the hotel comes from a tribute to “Auntie” Elizabeth Stone, the owner of the first hotel in Fort Collins and considered as the city’s “Founding Mother”. Elizabeth Stone was a warmful lady, the vivid portrait of amazing qualities such as the great cooking, generous hospitality and an incredible sense of humour, which gave her the nickname of “Auntie”.
This design project was an excitement for the interior design studio DLR Group and the architectural language spoke with soul and history. A unique and contemporary style was born from the minds of creatives wh found the hotel a very special place full of history.
“We really wanted to make sure that what we were creating felt authentic – that it would give guests a unique experience equal to the uniqueness of the city. We knew how important The Elizabeth Hotel would be to the local community, and we felt a lot of pressure to make sure every design choice would accurately convey the city’s personality. That challenge ultimately produced a design that is as distinctive and inviting as Fort Collins itself,” explained representatives of the DLR Group regarding what were the main challenges in concluding this outstanding project.
